The QUV- Accelerated Weathering Tester helps predict the effects
weathering has on a surface exposed to an outdoor environment.
This tester is designed to simulate rain and dew through a
condensation system. A series of fluorescent UV lamps simulate the
effects of sunlight. The daily sequence of UV, condensation and
temperature change periods is automatically controlled.
The damage that might occur in months or years of a sample exposed
to the outdoors can be produced in the chamber within weeks or
days. The deterioration observed might include fading, chalking,
cracking, crazing, hazing, blistering, gloss loss, strength loss
and embrittlement.
