Staff - Niall Stobie (Research Scientist)

Niall graduated from the Dublin Institute of Technology with a BSc. (Hons.) in Applied Science. His previous work experience has been in the area of quality control analysis, synthesis and characterisation of electrochromic dyes and developmental formulation. He has worked in several companies such as: Ntera Ltd. and Hewlett-Packard Manufacturing, working in the latter as a development chemist. Niall then joined CREST in May 2004, working on industrial research collaborations ranging from self-stratifying coatings to low-noise coatings for night deliveries which has lead to licenses being agreed with the industrial partners. Niall is currently developing antimicrobial paints for the protection of surfaces against MRSA. Niall is also pursing a Ph.D (part-time) in the area of Hygienic coatings.
