Sankalp Agarwal graduated in 2011 with M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry from Banaras Hindu University, Vanarasi, India. In 2012, he joined as Junior Research fellow in CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CSIR-CCMB) at Hyderabad, India for two years. He gained research experience in the development of nano-biomaterials for various applications like tissue engineering, antimicrobial agents and biosensors. During this period, he published paper and filed patent in the related area. He developed skills in the nanomaterials synthesis, characterisation and analysis of cellular responses to biomaterials.
Sankalp joined CREST in 2015 as post graduate researcher working on the project titled “Multifunctional Coating for biodegradable biomedical devices” under the supervision of Dr. Swarna Jaiswal and Dr. James Curtin. This work is aimed to develop corrosion resistant biocompatible coatings on Mg based alloys for orthopaedic applications.
